Taking inspiration from the abstract expressionists of the 40s and 50s, I explore mark making and materials to create records of process and emotion, capturing a specific place and time. Each piece is a reference point within my own life.

In 2022, I began focusing this exploration through a daily sketchbook practice, a ritual that continues to this day. Over time, some of those ideas have moved out of the sketchbook and onto larger works, where I can develop them further.
